چکیده

Theoretical approaches to the photoionization of few-electron atoms are discussed. These include nonequilibrium Greens functions and wave function based approaches. In particular, the Multiconfiguration TimeDependent Hartree-Fock method is discussed and applied to a model one-dimensional atom with four electrons. We compute ground state energies and the time-dependent photoionization by the field a strong laser pulse with two different frequencies in the ultraviolet.

Nonequilibrium Green function approach to photoionization processes in atoms

We present a quantum kinetic approach for the time-resolved description of many-body e ects in photoionization processes in atoms. The method is based on the non-equilibrium Green functions formalism and solves the Keldysh/Kadano -Baym equations in second Born approximation. An approximation scheme is introduced and discussed, which provides a complete single-particle description of the continu...

The multiplexed chemical kinetic photoionization mass spectrometer: a new approach to isomer-resolved chemical kinetics.

We have developed a multiplexed time- and photon-energy-resolved photoionization mass spectrometer for the study of the kinetics and isomeric product branching of gas phase, neutral chemical reactions. The instrument utilizes a side-sampled flow tube reactor, continuously tunable synchrotron radiation for photoionization, a multimass double-focusing mass spectrometer with 100% duty cycle, and a...

Photoelectron kinetic energy dependence in near threshold ionization of NO from A state studied by time-resolved photoelectron imaging.

Photoelectron angular distributions in the laboratory frame (LF-PADs) from the A((2)sigma(+)) state of NO molecule were measured by femtosecond time-resolved photoelectron imaging with (1 + 1(')) resonance enhanced multiphoton ionization via the A state. High-precision measurements of the anisotropy parameters of LF-PADs were performed for the photoelectron kinetic energy from 0.03 to 1.05 eV a...

Ultrafast probing of ejection dynamics of Rydberg atoms and molecular fragments from electronically excited helium nanodroplets.

The ejection dynamics of Rydberg atoms and molecular fragments from electronically excited helium nanodroplets are studied with time-resolved extreme ultraviolet ion imaging spectroscopy. At excitation energies of 23.6 ± 0.2 eV, Rydberg atoms in n = 3 and n = 4 states are ejected on different time scales and with significantly different kinetic energy distributions. Specifically, n = 3 Rydberg ...

Coherent imaging of an attosecond electron wave packet.

Electrons detached from atoms or molecules by photoionization carry information about the quantum state from which they originate, as well as the continuum states into which they are released. Generally, the photoelectron momentum distribution is composed of a coherent sum of angular momentum components, each with an amplitude and phase. Here we show, by using photoionization of neon, that a tr...
